Robocalls have grown to become a major problem in the United States, and the FCC is working to create new legislation to hopefully help solve the issue for good. A new proposal from the FCC aims to crack down on robocalls that originate from overseas, or ones that evade spoofing laws. Director Justin Lin has confirmed that filming is done on Fast & Furious 9. The ninth mainline Fast & Furious was originally scheduled to open this year, but was later delayed to 2020 and its former date went to the Hobbs & Shaw spinoff instead. This infamously resulted in Tyrese Gibson criticizing Dwayne Johnson on social media, calling him “selfish” for putting his solo movie first. Of course, this was all after Johnson and Vin Diesel clashed during production on The Fate of the Furious, prior to the spinoff being green-lit....

Players who require a little more razzle dazzle to get fully immersed may find its lean set dressing somewhat underwhelming, but Fate Hunters definitely offers worthy experience in the genre for a bargain price. We can thank the persistent appeal of card games like Magic: The Gathering, Hearthstone, and Slay the Spire for this recent glut of deck-builders popping up on various platforms and consoles. In terms of these three titles, the latter is probably the closest reference point and inspiration for Fate Hunters, a new indie deck-building roguelike on Steam which has recently come out of early access, and is worthy of greater attention....

Unsealed court documents reveal that actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, known for Desperate Housewives and Fuller House respectively, have been indicted in the nation’s largest college admissions scheme to date. The alleged scam involved parents paying exorbitant sums of money in order to get their children into Ivy League schools and other elite universities, either as recruited athletes in sports they didn’t play or based on exam scores from tests they didn’t take....

Following the explosive midseason finale, Fear the Walking Dead may have found their new star. Based on a new press release, Morgan (Lennie James) appears to be the show’s new lead. Before joining the main cast for season 4, Morgan was a series regular on The Walking Dead. Morgan is expected to replace Madison, who is the second season 1 cast member to die this season. 12 Monkeys star Aaron Stanford has joined the cast of AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead for the second half of season 4. Stanford is particularly known among general audiences for playing the fire-controlling mutant Pyro in X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand. Stanford was also a series regular on Nikita for four seasons. But, most recently, he played the lead role of James Cole in Syfy’s time travel series 12 Monkeys....

Netflix has been putting out a lot of new content over the last year with the increased demand for original streaming series and movies. One of the latest in Netflix’s original shows is the fantasy series Fate: The Winx Saga. The magical characters in the series are so vastly different from one another, from power sets to personality, that it seems like there wouldn’t be common ground among them. The Federal Communications Commission, or FCC, has announced a settlement with AT&T, Verizon, and others over failed 911 calls. As reported by The Verge, the carriers will pay a total of $6 million combined as part of the settlement. The settlement was reached between the FCC and AT&T, Verizon, Intrado, and CenturyLink (now known as Lumen Technologies). Following the recent revelation that Verizon Wireless would begin throttling some 4G LTE customers on unlimited data plans, FCC chairman Tom Wheeler has sent a letter to the carrier (full text below) expressing his disdain with the policy and question the necessity of throttling only customers on unlimited plans. In the letter, Wheeler asks Verizon CEO Daniel Mead why exactly the company feels the need to only throttle customers on certain plans, rather than throttling based on the needs of the technology that powers the network....
